Breakfast w/My Baby
Faith loves her banana's. She eats them so fast and puts so much in her mouth at once she is constantly gagging. I know it doesn't sound pretty but it is the funniest thing to watch. It doesn't slow her down either, she keeps shoveling it in and gagging over and over. I laugh at her and she just gives me her cheesy little grin.
In Honor Of..........
August 27th, 2007.
Today our little girl turned 1 year old. Dad came home early from work and we went out shopping. We picked out a beautiful tree and a stone Chinese temple to put in our backyard. We have dedicated the back corner of our yard to a beautiful woman, Faith's birth mom, Kai-Ling and over the next few years will make it a little garden/sitting area for Faith. We have placed a tree in the back corner, the Chinese temple on one side of the tree and will get a stone bench for the other side with a few small stepping stones that lead into the bench. We are going to have Kai-Ling's name and Faith's Chinese name, Chia Hui, engraved on them and each year Faith will be able to light a candle in honor of her birth mother and place the candle in the Chinese temple to burn all night. We started this tradition this year and at sunset we took Faith out to light a candle. Although she is to young to realize at this time what we are doing we know that her mom, where ever she may be, was thinking of Faith on this special day.
Kai-Ling will never understand or know how much love we have for her. How much respect and honor. We are so grateful for the beautiful baby girl she has in-trusted with us. We love her so very much and we will forever be grateful and remember her in our hearts always. She is amazing in so many ways!
THANK YOU KIA-LING!
Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
Faith was such a good girl all morning and even did really well while we were in the temple today for our sealing. Once we sat down to eat lunch at my parent's afterwards, things seemed to spiral out of control. First she burned her little hands on the hot metal slide in my parents yard. Then she spit up all of her lunch all over her daddy. Then she got her little fingers shut in a door. It was a rough afternoon. She was so tired and just wouldn't even think about taking a nap with the fun party going on.
About an hour of down time and cuddling/holding our little one she was up and at it again. She received her second wind it seemed. She was ready to dive into her birthday cake and open presents.
Faith wasn't afraid to get dirty and play with her cake but she didn't eat very much of it. She took a taste here and there but that was about it. She enjoyed feeding it to her dad more so.
She received TO MANY gifts and her family spoiled her as always. Thank you all SO MUCH for the birthday gifts and amazing books. She will be able to use and read all of them. We love you all!!!!!
Getting Ready
A Very Special Day!
On August 25th we took Faith to the Bountiful LDS Temple with us to have her sealed to us for Time And All Eternity. It was the most amazing experience ever (next to our marriage sealing almost 10 years ago). We had a very special day! She looked like an angel.
We woke and took our time at home having a nice breakfast and morning together. Faith took her morning nap and then it was time to get ready. She is such a girlie- girl and loves to watch mom get ready in the mornings. Today was her day. All three of us were in the bathroom together getting ready. Faith was such a good girl and always sits so patiently while mom fusses over her.
We drove to the Bountiful Temple at Noon and many family and friends joined us to see Faith be sealed to us at 1 PM. After the sealing everyone, and then some, were invited to a lunch and birthday party for Faith at the home of my parents in Bountiful.
The most amazing part of our whole experience for me would have to be when they brought Faith into the sealing room dressed in all white. She was so adorable and I was the proudest mom in the world at that moment. She is the sweetest and cutest thing ever! Once the sealing had been performed and everyone in the room said "Amen" Faith looked up and clapped. It was perfect!
What a wonderful day! I will never forget it!
Faith WALKS!
We have had a busy month. Faith started walking at 11 months. I no longer could leave her in the living room to play and run down the hall to put something away. The day after she started to walk I would run down the hall and turn around and boom, there she was! She loves to follow her mom all around the house and try to help her. She is a very busy body and all over the place. She is the littlest thing I have ever seen waddling around.
We are so amazed at how much Faith has grown since we brought her home six months ago. She is no longer a baby to us. She is a little toddler and has her own personality for sure. She totally works the system now as well and runs to greet mom or dad when they come home.
The Basket
One morning Faith went into the living room to play while mom cleaned up breakfast. When mom joined her she noticed that Faith had climbed into her toy basket and was just sitting there, leaning back against the wall. She seemed so comfortable and just sat in it for like 10 minutes or more looking around. It was the cutest thing. She thought it was pretty cool how she could get herself into the basket but it was funny to try and watch her trying to get herself out. She does the cutest things some times. Mom is easily amused by her and can watch her play all day long.
