Happy Birthday Ryker!

It was my nephew (and Faith's cousin's) birthday on the 26th. He had a big party at the "Classic Fun Center" in Layton.

There were so many crazy kids, lots of food, and fun!

Faith had a blast playing with everyone.

Happy birthday buddy, we love you!

Hoppy Easter!

This past weekend we went to Moab, UT to stay the weekend with our friends. It was the big Jeep Safari weekend (my sister Vicki and her family go down every year too). This was the 15th year going. Good times!

We always stay with our friends at their home (The Paxman's). I always tease my girlfriend Rachel, it's like a bed and breakfast. She cook's delicious dinner's every night and breakfast's for us each morning and I never have to take anything with us. They have the bed, the pack'n'play, the stroller, everything! We just go and enjoy! It's great!

We had a good time arriving on Thursday night and returning home on Monday night. We had dinner's every night with all the gang (friends we grew up with, friends from Grand Junction and friends from Moab). The group seems to grow every year. The kids had an Easter egg hunt on Sunday morning (as they do every year at Kali's, THANKS KALI). It's always fun to get away.

It was my first experience packing up two kids and dealing with Owen in such a crowed. Over all everything went great. Once we returned home though he was right back to his normal schedule, sleeping, eating, and smiling all the while. It threw him off a bit being around so much action. Faith had a great time with all the kids though. She adores them all.

Now we are home and it's been laundry day for me all day. It takes a whole day to catch up once we get home from trips, it's so worth it though.

My Joy!

Easter Fun!

We had an Easter egg hunt a week before Easter because most of the family was going to be out of town for Easter weekend (we spent the weekend in Moab UT for Jeep Safari weekend).
We gathered with friends and family at my sister's home for the hunt and a nice lunch. This was Owen's first big outing as well. It went well too :)

It was so fun to see everyone and to watch Faith hunt for the first time. When they told all the kids it was time they all took off running. Faith had no idea what was going on but when the kids started to run she thought it was so fun. She started to run too, she followed them with her basket just laughing and having a good time. She didn't know what to do though. It was so cute!

She gathered some egg's and I was getting a bit cold so I took her back to the house and she giggled and laughed as she opened the egg's and found their was candy inside. Now when ever she sees an egg she knows exactly what to do and what's going on.

Thanks for all the fun Sonia!

"Gotcha Day"!

It's hard to believe that it has already been one year since we traveled to Taiwan to pick up our baby girl. It has been an amazing year with her. She has grown so much and we couldn't imagine life with out her in it. She is the sweetest and most amazing little girl. She is so smart and such an easy girl. I have been so lucky to have her in my life.

Since bringing her home she has always slept through the night, eaten really well (anything I would feed her). She was crawling at 6 months and walking at 11 months. She has been saying "mama" and "dada" since 6/7 months and has picked up more and more words since. She is starting to put words together to form sentences and she has become a huge helper with her new brother Owen around. She has had to grow up even more so in the last month because of this.

She is a sweet girl and loves people and playing with other kids. She especially love animals. She has been such a joy and so wonderful!

In celebration we invited our parents over for a home cooked Taiwanese meal (mental note: never have a dinner were you cook everything from scratch, which you have never made before, 4 weeks after having a baby. It was craziness juggling the kids, decorating, and cooking). We had a nice dinner and then watched a video we had made for Faith when she gets older. It was the story of how it all came to be. We had recorded ourselves the year prior to going to pick her up sharing our experience and all along the adoption journey way. Then we added our trip to Taiwan and the day we picked her up. We also added pictures of Faith's life with us over the last year. We added some music and special effects and we hope that some day when Faith sits down to watch this video she will know how special she is to us and how much we love her.

All the families and those who work with our adoption agency call the day in which you pick up your babies the "Gotcha Day". It was fun looking back and seeing how much she has changed in just one year.
