Chinese New Year Celebration

When we returned home on March 16th we went home and gave Faith a tour of her new home. She seemed to really like it, her favorite room of the house was her nursery. We placed her in her crib and I stood back and asked her if she liked it, she looked up and grinned from ear to ear and looked around the room. SHE LOVED IT!

We have video of our arrival home and when Faith entered her new home so unfortunately I didn't take pictures but it's been incredible having her home and it is SO GOOD TO BE HOME and to be able to start getting her on a schedule and helping her feel loved and secure.

We went to bed at about 11 PM and woke up around 9 AM the next day. We had lots of visitors all day long and then we got all dressed up to celebrate the Chinese New Year with our adoption agency, Families For Children.

It was SO exciting to see Laura, Sally, and all of our good friends. I was so excited to show off Faith and have her reunite with some of the little one's she spent some time with at St. Lucy's (although she is to young to remember).

It was a wonderful evening with crafts and games, a slide show, appetizers and the red envelope ceremony.

WE HAD A GREAT TIME!

March 16th, 2007 - Home Bound

We left Taiwan on March 16th @ 4:40 PM and arrived in SLC, UT @ 8:20 PM (long road home). Faith did amazingly well. She slept 6 hours on the flight in the bassinet and the rest of the time just sat on mom and dad's lap and watched movies. What a good little girl. We were so amazed at how well she did the whole time.

Not only did everyone always tell us while running here and there in Taiwan with our beauty queen that she was absolutely gorgeous but she made friends along the way. When we spent time at the LA airport coming home she met a little girl who was 10 months old and she kept reaching out for her. I finally gave in and let her play and crawl on the dirty airport floor.

When we arrived at the SLC airport Faith was greeted by her Grandpa and Grandma Bott, Grandpa and Grandma Workman, Her uncle Joey and his friend Emily.

What a trip!

This is where we witnessed the changing of the guards. It would be so hard to stand as still as a statue as the young men do as service and to show honor for their country.
