Faith's Christmas Present '06

It's Christmas time and of course we wanted to send Faith a little gift from her mommy and daddy. We just can't wait to spoil her! We thought it would be fun to send a build-a-bear to her because we could record our voices (we hope they play it for her often and she gets familiarized). We then thought a nice soft blanket with mom's perfume would be fun, maybe she would recognize us when we hold her for the first time (I hope she doesn't have an allergic reaction, eek!).

It was so much fun building the bear and putting a little peice of us inside and sending it across the world to our little sweet heart. It's amazing how with-in one week it went from our arms to her's. So soft and cuddly.

I wish I could have sent more but the cost to ship just those to items was craziness! We love her so much it's SO worth it!

Three Months Old

Look at that hair......

Two Months Old

One Month Old

Referral Picture

After waiting five long months for our referral we received "The Call" on November 24th, 2006. It was at this time that we learned of our little girl Chia Hui, born August 27th, 2006, 6.9 lbs. 19.6 in. This was the same sweet little girl I had laid eye's on almost three months earlier. We rushed home that same night to check our e-mail for the referral photo's and health records, family background and birth mother's story. IT WAS THERE!!!!!!!!!!!! We were so elated and could hardly stand it. We stayed up until mid-night looking over everything and LOVING her pictures. She is the most beautiful thing ever!!!!!!!! THIS WAS THE HAPPIEST DAY OF OUR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!

Love At First Site

I first laid eye’s on our now baby girl, Chia Hui, at the end of August '06 when our counselor, Laura, had just returned home from a visit to the St. Lucy's Center in Taiwan. She always updates all the families waiting with pictures and news on a shared web-site. When I went to view the pictures I saw the most beautiful and precious little girl ever. There she was……. Laura was holding her and she looked like a little angel. I was so in love. I quickly e-mailed Laura to ask who she was as to learn more about her. Laura said she was just two days old in the pictures and the care givers at St. Lucy's had not yet decided if she would be an international or domestic adoption. We would have to wait until she was close to three months old until they would know for sure. All the while something inside of me told me she was ours.
