Sunday's = Tired Kids

Sunday's are so long............. We have church at 1 PM (the kids nap time) and they get up and play all morning, then we get ready, and off we go. They sit through all their meetings and by the time we load them in the car to go home they are passing out in our arms (we only live around the corner).

This past Sunday Lindsay was driving home from Wyoming (he had been working there for the weekend) and so I took the kids to church. Towards the end of our first meeting (sacrament) Faith kept saying "mommy nap, mommy nap". After hearing it for 10 minutes straight I finally gave in and right before the meeting ended I took the kids home. I asked Faith to wait in her bedroom and look at some books while I put Owen down and then I would be right in to read her a store and put her down too.

This is what I found when I came in to read to her..........

Precious little thing!

A peice of cake!

I am now an Activity's Day Leader in my ward (soooooo much easier then Young Women's). I had all the girls over to my house on Friday and we had a good time decorating cakes. Faith got in on the fun as well. She kept dipping her knife in the frosting and putting a little on her cupcake and then dipping and putting a lot in her mouth and so forth most of the time. She has a ball with the girls.

Photo Shoot

Faith absolutaly loves to take pictures with our camera. She think's its so fun to look at the little screen and move the camera around the room until she spots what she wants to take a picture of and pushes the button. Then she laughs her head off. This was our little photo shoot the other night. She got her hands on the camera and kept saying "cheese" to me and would take a picture and laugh. I couldn't take the camera because she was so happy and having so much fun. This is the results.

We have a crawler

Owen finally learned to crawl (8 1/2 months old). After pushing himself around backwards for a month on Halloween morning I brought him into the family room as I do every morning when he wakes and to my surprise I put him down to play with the toys and he took off. Just like that he was crawling. Born on Valentine's and crawling on Halloween. Lindsay's thinks he will be walking on Thanks Giving...WRONG! Maybe New Years? Our little Holiday boy!

And he's not the only one that get's worn out........

Freakishly Fun Halloween!

We hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween this year. Faith was old enough to know what was going on and she loved walking around the neighborhood to see all the other kids in their costumes.

We started out the night at Lindsay's parent's for our traditional chili and bread sticks. Then we came back home and took Faith out for about 30 minutes and ended the night at my sister's home for some more food (can't get enough).

We loved seeing everyone and hope you all had a spookalicious time!

Blah!

Well the darn cast is still on!

I went to he doctor the day before Halloween and it was suppose to come off. He said another 3 1/2 weeks with the cast or to buy a boot that had a hard sole, went above the ankle and tied or zipped so that it would support the ankle. OK, well I thought it would be really easy to find a pair of boots like that because it is boot season. We went out shopping one day and I found one pair and they didn't have my size. I didn't want to pay over $50 for a pair of shoes I didn't love. I wanted to shop for cute fall boots and shoes with my money. Can you imagine wearing the same boots everyday any how, with your casual clothes, dressy clothes, church clothes. Ugh!

I went home and shopped the Internet and found a pair and ordered them. Well it took another two weeks to get them here. They arrived two days ago and I go back to the doctor this coming Monday to see what's next. He will tell me if I need to continue with the new boot for another three weeks or if I get to go back to my shoes using crutches for a few days so I don't twist it again (my foot and ankle are really weak from not being able to use them forever. I need to regain strength and muscle).

When this happened I thought I could deal for two months (they said 8 weeks at that time). Well it's ending up being 4 months and this lady isn't getting any skinnier....he-he! I can't wait until I can go running or do something about this baby weight that is hanging on around my gut. Can you say muffin top?

From one ugly boot to the next.

Happy Birthday Dad

On October 27th my mom had the family over to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had a nice dinner and the kids ran through the house like a tornado. It's always fun to go see grandma and grandpa. Owen has had a really hard time with other people holding him besides his mom and dad. He freak's out! For some unknown reason he loves his grandma Bott. She can hold him and play with him and he smiles and laughs. I wonder if it is because our voices sound the same? For some reason he is OK with her and it's about the only time I get a break.

Well we had a wonderful time! Happy Birthday dad and thanks for the delicious food mom! Your the best!

The Luck!

I thought everything came in three's (so they say). I thought it was going to be my turn for something good to happen. I broke my foot, both children had croup, and then Monday morning, October 27th on my way to the doctor for Faith I was pulled over just two blocks from the doctor's office. I know I shouldn't have been speeding but as usual I was running late to the doctor's. Well.......... As I was pulling over to the side of the road I smashed into a mail box (YEEEEEEEEEKS!). It was a metal mail box which happened to be hanging just over the curb about 3 inches on a skinny wooden post.

Now I know you all must be thinking I am just making up excuses and I look back and just think, I shouldn't have been speeding in the first place but WHAT WAS I THINKING OR DOING WHEN I HIT THE MAILBOX? Why didn't I see it? Duh!!!!!

Well it hit my passenger side mirror first and threw it into the car (against the car) breaking the mirror. Then the two prong's at the end of the mailbox scrapped and cut all the way down the side of my car. I tried to pull away from it but it kept scraping. The cop came to my window and I started to cry. I told him not to get to close because I had a cold and the two kids in the car had croup (lol). The only thing I could think about was my poor car. Who cares about the mailbox.

I think he felt bad for me so he didn't give me a speeding ticket. We left a note for the home owners about their mailbox and needless to say they never called. I went back the next day and knocked on the door and no one was home. The mailbox had been bent back into position and it seems they tried to fix it. They still havn't called about it so maybe they felt bad for the ding-bat lady that hit it.

Any how, here are some pictures of the damage. SORRY HONEY!!!!!!!!

Carving Pumpkins

My poor little kids both fought croup in October. Owen caught the bug on October 20th and we had a whole list of things we had to do for him each day to help him breath and get through it (for 10 days, ending the day before Halloween). I thought Faith was on the clear because she was so happy all week and then on Sunday morning, bam! Faith then caught it and had to visit the doctor as well. She was down for two days kind of sluggish. Sunday October 26th was the worst but we went ahead and carved our pumpkins that night and Faith loved every minute of it. She is so cute and this was the first year we carved pumpkins with her. She just loves pumpkins and everywhere we drive "mommy, pumpkins?" pointing here and there, "mommy, more pumpkins?". She really got into Halloween this year.

Needless to say they both over came it and we went out on Halloween and had a wonderful time. I am so grateful they are both healthy and happy now. It is so sad when our kido's are sick. Love them.

Note: Mandi is STILL wearing a cast on her foot, lovely!

Note: Don't you love the cheap Christmas table cloth, festive!

Note: Owen's head is big, but not as big as the pumpkin.. he-he!

Sadle Up

It has been a long while since we have taken the kids over to play with and ride our horse Bullet. It was due time. Faith LOVES to ride him and be around all the other horses. It's always fun to go to the farm.
