Piggy Tails

Faith's hair is now long enough to put into pig-tails. I thought I would share these darling photo's with you. Such a big girl!

Like Father Like Daughter

Each day we find many similarities with our little angel. But the most amazing to us all is how much she looks like her daddy.

Play Date

Faith and I had a lot of fun getting together with some of our family and friends. We went to Liberty Park and played on the kids big toys and in the water. Faith LOVES the water. She loves to splash around. She has a lot of little buddies and we enjoy getting out. At the end of the day she was exhausted, SO CUTE!

Waking Up Is Hard To Do

It's July 5th and @ 7:30 AM when I went in Faith's room to get her this is how I found her. Content, playing with her binky, hands and feet in the air, all the way down to one side of her crib. I always find her in the oddest positions when she sleeps. The cute things kids do.

CAMPING!

Lindsay and I love to camp. This year was going to be a bit of a challenge having a little one around and to worry about. We love to stay out under the stars and be in a tent but having a little one makes it a bit more difficult. It's hard when a baby wakes up in FREEZING weather and you have to change their diaper, get them dressed and all day long lather then with sunscreen and bug spray. Good times for sure!

We did a little upgrading and bought us a bigger (family size) tent, bought some comfortable coats to sleep on so it wouldn't be so hard getting up and down. Prepared a comfortable bed with lots of blankets for Faith and we even take along our tent heater to make it warm in the mornings and more manageable.

We have been camping twice this summer and Faith did amazingly well both trips. She has slept through the nights and never put up much of a fuss. She was a real trooper, born to camp.

She loved going on four-wheel rides with her daddy and now when she sees one or even her little cousin Ryker come riding down the street in his little electric jeep she starts to squeal.

We have been having a wonderful summer with our families and hope to be able to get out and camp a few more times before the season ends.

Breakfast w/the Ducks

We meet together and had a nice big breakfast at the park and the kids played with the ducks and by a beautiful little waterfall. It was a beautiful park and we spent most of the morning just chit chatting with all the families and taking pictures.

Can't wait until next year!

BBQ @ The Park

After swimming we had a BBQ at the park that night and the kids joined in on a water fight. Faith was going to town on her watermelon, loved it! She laughed and enjoyed watching the kids run around and get each other wet. Lindsay can't help become like a little kid when there are so many around (OK even if there is only one around) and especially playing with water. He joined in and chased all the kids around the park with a bucket but they all ganged up on him and got him good. The kids adored him and had a blast!

Swimming

Faith LOVES the water. She had a fun time in Moab at the Reunion swimming with all the kids. She was the hottest sun babe there. She loved kicking back and relaxing with her shades on.

Familes For Children Moab Summer Fling

We had a WONDERFUL time in Moab June 8th - 10th meeting and getting to know other families who have adopted little ones through Families for Children, from Taiwan. It was the annual "Summer Fling"/"Families for Children Reunion". It was fun hearing other stories and being able to relate in so many ways with them all. Lindsay and I noticed that all of the families had adopted more then once from Taiwan. It is such an amazing experience it's hard to stop at one I'm sure.

There were about seven families who came and about 14-17 children from Taiwan there. They ranged from ages 9 months to 7 yrs. The kids had a lot of fun playing together. It was fun to watch Faith interact and watch all the children.

It was great and we hope to be able to go back next year and many more years to come. We hope it gets bigger and bigger each year and that we can invite more friends out to the reunion. It's worth the travel, time and money for sure!

9 Mo. Doctor's Visit

Well Faith is growing like a weed and is as healthy as can be. Dr. Foote was so pleased with Faith's progress. She is 75% in her height and just a wee 10% in weight but she's at least hitting the charts and the Dr. Foote says this is "wonderful". He was so pleased with her as she sat very still for him to do all the check's and tests he needed to. Faith once again had to get two shots, it went as well as the last time. A little scream and a few tears but she was smiling once again a few minutes later. The doctor asked me to take Faith into the Davis Hospital to have some blood work done to make sure all was well. When new babies are born they usually prick the heal to do these types of tests but because Faith is a bit older they needed to draw blood and it was not a fun experience at all.

I had to hold her down, along with three other nurses and as the one tried to take her blood, not kidding, we sat there for 3 minutes trying and trying (which seems like an eternity when your little one is crying). The blood was moving VERY slow up the tube and into the syringe and it was taking FOREVER! I couldn't believe it. This was a baby we were dealing with and the girl taking the blood was driving me and Faith NUTS! Once finished it seemed she hardly had enough blood in the syringe so I asked her if she wanted me to wait to make sure. She left the room and then a new girl came back through the doors and said it didn't work, we had to do it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor Faith, she know right away when I began to sit back down and started crying again, it was awful. I couldn't hold back the tears myself at this point, it was so sad to hold her and watch her. At least this girl knew what she was doing and it took seconds to get all the blood she needed. WHY IN THE HECK DIDN'T SHE DO IT FOR US THE FIRST TIME. The first girl had moved the needle around so much in little Faith's arm trying to draw blood that the next day her arm was all blue, makes a mom so mad!

Once we returned home and took a picture of our little wrestler baby girl Faith. My champ!
