Monday, April 25th, 2011

Monday morning we checked into the hospital at 7:30am. They got me comfortable in my "labor room" and the exciting process began.

They started me on patosum and then at 9:30am they broke my water. Slowly but surly the contractions started. Just like with Owen's delivery thing's went REALLY slow until I hit a "6". I told the nurse that when I had Owen we laid around for a good 10 hrs and finally after a "6" things went faster.

So, every 30 minutes the nurse would come in to check me. She would up the patosum every hr or so. After about 5-6 hrs she thought to herself that this time she would wait 45 minutes before checking me because I have been progressing so slowly. Well, just as I said with Owens delivery once I hit a "6" there was no stopping it. My epidural was done at maybe 1 pm and then at 2pm when the nurse came to check me she lifted my leg, set it down, pushed my two legs together and said "oh my gosh! Don't sneeze, cough, or laugh. The baby is right there and she is coming out" EEK!!!!!!!!!!! They called my doctor right away and I was so nervous thinking she wouldn't make it. The nurse and assistance were preparing to deliver me on their own if they had to. NICE!!!!

This happened at 2:45pm. My doctor arrived at 3:15pm. They put my legs up in the stirrups and I pushed one contraction and OUT SHE CAME! It was heavenly! It was so amazing and so easy! YAY!!!!!!!!!

Lea Marie Workman was born on April 25th, 2011 @ 3:20pm. 7.5 lbs and 19 1/2 inches. The most beautiful thing in the world! She was simply perfect in every way. Her little features are just beautiful and her sweet little head wasn't miss shaped at all (as we all know most are right out of the womb).

This was a beautiful and amazing experience!

We stayed at the hospital until Wednesday morning and returned home at 9:30am. Faith and Owen stayed with their Grandma Bott for three days and then with their Grandma Workman for a day. On Friday afternoon they returned home to be with us and now the biggest challenge of them all will be Monday morning when Lindsay goes back to work. Oh it will be a fun month.

Everyone is happy and doing well! Mom and baby are FABULOUS and have healed from the Labor and are up and at it. Everyone is healthy and strong. We are an extremely blessed family and SO happy to have Lea join us!
