"Gotcha Day"!
It's hard to believe that it has already been one year since we traveled to Taiwan to pick up our baby girl. It has been an amazing year with her. She has grown so much and we couldn't imagine life with out her in it. She is the sweetest and most amazing little girl. She is so smart and such an easy girl. I have been so lucky to have her in my life.
Since bringing her home she has always slept through the night, eaten really well (anything I would feed her). She was crawling at 6 months and walking at 11 months. She has been saying "mama" and "dada" since 6/7 months and has picked up more and more words since. She is starting to put words together to form sentences and she has become a huge helper with her new brother Owen around. She has had to grow up even more so in the last month because of this.
She is a sweet girl and loves people and playing with other kids. She especially love animals. She has been such a joy and so wonderful!
In celebration we invited our parents over for a home cooked Taiwanese meal (mental note: never have a dinner were you cook everything from scratch, which you have never made before, 4 weeks after having a baby. It was craziness juggling the kids, decorating, and cooking). We had a nice dinner and then watched a video we had made for Faith when she gets older. It was the story of how it all came to be. We had recorded ourselves the year prior to going to pick her up sharing our experience and all along the adoption journey way. Then we added our trip to Taiwan and the day we picked her up. We also added pictures of Faith's life with us over the last year. We added some music and special effects and we hope that some day when Faith sits down to watch this video she will know how special she is to us and how much we love her.
All the families and those who work with our adoption agency call the day in which you pick up your babies the "Gotcha Day". It was fun looking back and seeing how much she has changed in just one year.
