A Month of Hell (I am so aloud to say that word this time)

It all started the week before Easter. I never in my life dreamt of having two beautiful kids, being a stay at home mom and able to love-a-dove-dove my kiddos all day, and then dealing with everything we have been through. The highlights of my life for sure, I am totally living the life (ha-ha!). What a total nightmare.

Little Owen and myself got a bit of the flu before leaving to Moab for Easter weekend. Thank goodness it all cleared up in time to go and we had a wonderful holiday weekend. Well, when we returned home Lindsay and Faith were stuck with a bad cold and serious sinus infections. Then it hit me, bad..... I had to go to the doctor because the left side of my face was in so much pain. My ear, my head, my jaw, everything hurt and I tried to deal with it for four days and then went in to get something to help me. It was miserable dealing with that and the kiddos every day, ugh!

Well, then Owen got croup for a week and when it drained he then received two ear infections and a bad cough in the lungs. Which then also spread to mio... I received some kind of croup junk from him. Then to continue on every one of us received a 24 hr. flu bug, we just passed it right through, one to another. First Owen on a Wednesday, then me on a Friday, then Faith on Sunday, and then Lindsay came home from work on Tuesday and stayed home on Wednesday from it. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention that Lindsay cold turned into a sinus infection and he ended up at the doctor and had an ear infection (I didn't know adults actually got those).

Then when I thought I had, had enough there was still more to come. Faith came down with a high fever of 105 for two days which was not pretty. She laid on the couch SO sick for four days and we found out she had the beginning stages of ammonia. We had to put her on antibiotics and the nebulizer (breathing machine) using it four times daily for up to 7-10 days. During this time Owen then received two more ear infections and I fought a cold and sour throat.

I tell you I was so dead and so worn out from all of this and being up during the nights with the kids and being sick through it all myself. We were seriously down for a month. I had to keep the kids inside for 7 days about a week ago and then we went to our family cabin for the weekend (last weekend) to get the kids away and up into some fresh air (Star Valley Wyoming). It was a nice weekend and two days after returning the kiddos are FINALLY HEALTHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure about going to nursery this Sunday, it freaks me out really. I am so worried about them. Hoefully with the nice sunshiny weather all the yuck clears out and everyone stays healthy and happy now.

WOW! What a month. I gained 8 pounds, sat on my duff for two straight weeks (so much for training for my half marathon), kept the kids inside, went crazy, had only two break downs (not bad), but look at us know, GOOD AS NEW (crossing my fingers). It's so funny how the little things can bring you down and totally wear your out. I have so much to be grateful for on those days when my kids both wake up happy and healthy. It is amazing how much your life changes with sick kids. I learned to appreciate the little things through all of this and maybe this is what I needed. Some times I get so bored or down when I am at home all day, every day with my kids. Everything is done by their schedule and there is no more "me" time. I get down every now and then but having gone through this I have found so many little things to be grateful for and I realize I am one of the luckiest people alive. I truly and really couldn't be hapier when I have two healthy kids.

Now let's get out side and PLAY HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CUTE, EVEN WHEN THEY ARE SICK

weve been dealing with the same thing for a month also. first Kali with a cough/ 103 fever and finally a since infection. then Kevin with the flu and cough for 2 weeks and now me with a cough for 3 weeks and a double ear and upper respitory infection with no insurence. I didn't think adults could get them either, now Kaden and Tanner are coughing and complaining of sore throats. and we are leaving for Hawaii in 12 days. no fun

Oh, so not fun! So sorry you have dealing with all this yucky stuff! I'll tell you, adults can get ear infections....and honestly there isn't much worse than that, they are horrible...maybe we have to feel bad to be more sympathetic with our kids, cause if my kids EVER have an ear infection...I am SOOO sad for them! Glad things are doing better, so ya, we'll see you at the park (hopefully
