Slight Problem!

Last night Laura called me with some bad news. It seems there has been an issue trying to track down the birth mother or her family over the last few weeks to have them go into St. Lucy's and sign some Power of Attorney documents for Faith's visa. Because of this St. Lucy's called Laura and requested that Lindsay and I sign some more Power of Attorney documents, which gives someone from St. Lucy's the authority to sign on behalf of the birth mother (instead of having the birth mother do it herself). If they get our documents in time then St. Lucy's can just finish processing everything and sign all documents themselves. We were told our papers had to reach St. Lucy's bye February 26th.

We first found out about this small issue last Thursday (Feb 15th). Laura had called me at my office and informed me of the problem and then e-mailed me the documents to be signed and notarized that day (at the time she said not to worry and we could do it in time). I told her I would take care of it all that day and then drive them to her that afternoon. I signed all documents, our receptionist notarize everything and then I drove down to Highland and dropped them off to Laura. She then took them into the Utah State office in downtown Salt Lake the next morning and asked them to push the documents through that day and rush them (they had to be stamped and sealed by the state). They did so, thank goodness, and then she over nighted everything to the San Fransisco Taiwan office for their seal. The lady who works at that office said she would slide things through as well to move them quickly and let us know when it would be sent to Taiwan. Everything was going well but on Tuesday of this week the lady at the San Fransisco office called Laura and said their was something wrong with the documents. She was going to overnight them back to Laura, then Laura would have them corrected and then sent back to her. The documents were to have reached Laura yesterday and they didn't. Laura checked the package with her tracking number and found out they were on their way to Taiwan. The lady at the San Fransisco office sent them the WRONG WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well because I had made double, Laura can take the those into the State again this morning, have them rush it and overnight it back to San Fransisco with everything the way they wanted it. We hope at this point that they get there tomorrow and they push it all through again (because it was their fault we lost a day) and then they will be over nighted to Taiwan on Friday afternoon. This puts them in Taiwan on Feb 27th because Taiwan is a day ahead of us, and this is if everything gets pushed through and out on time. Laura will call Sally in Taiwan on Monday (when they all return from celebrating their Chinese New Year) and see if she can talk to St. Lucy's and work things out to still be OK. If it's not OK that they received them a day late then our trip will be postponed probably until March 21st because our translator (Sally) will be visiting Salt Lake City the week after we are planning to pick up Faith at this time. So we would have to reschedule for when she is back in Taiwan.

CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please, please, please everyone pray for us this week/weekend in hopes that our papers flow through the system well and reach them in time to process everything. WE HAVE TO PICK UP FAITH ON MARCH 12th. IT'S GOING TO KILL ME IF NOT!!!!!!!!!!

Keep the faith!

Love you all!
